Importance of Soil Health
We all know that a healthy soil means healthy plants, and a healthy soil begins with a healthy soil microbial community. What we offer are two things: the products you need to build soil health no matter what you started with and the knowledge you need to keep it that way. Our system is based on what soil scientists call the Soil Food Web, which is the interactions between the soil, its mineral and organic matter, and the community of organisms that call the root zone home. If you have a vigorous soil community, then the plants will thrive...and healthy, thriving plants have fewer problems, need less care, and please customers. That is, after all, what it is about: Healthy soil, Healthy plants, Happy customers. The key to a vibrant Soil Food Web isn’t complicated. Inoculate with the microbes that are at the heart of the system, provide adequate organic matter to feed them and avoid, where ever possible, applications of caustic materials that knock down their numbers. Over time the Soil Food Web will increase porosity, improve drought resistance and raise nutrient extraction.
